My name is Kaye Davis and I’m a professional photographic artist based in beautiful Tauranga, New Zealand.
I love to create photographic art as a voice to the beauty that exists within nature. The digital camera and digital darkroom (computer) are my artist’s tools and choice of creative medium with photography allowing me to explore, capture and preserve, through my art, some amazing and beautiful wonders of nature.
My work explores and celebrates the colour, detail and beauty of nature through contemporary landscape, abstract and illustrative fine art photography prints. The work I produce is influenced and inspired by early botanical photographic artists, such as Anna Atkins, Henry Fox Talbot, and Karl Blossfeldt.
Creating is about immersing myself in the process every step of the way, from capture and digital preparation through to printing and finishing using the highest quality archival materials – creating beautiful, original and contemporary fine art pieces for others to enjoy.
An international award-winning photographer, I have a formal education in both fashion and design and photography. I’m an Honorary Fellow and Accredited Member of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP). My career highlights include being awarded the NZIPP’s highest awards distinction of Grand Master of Photography. In addition, in 2013, I was named New Zealand Professional Photographer of the Year, and have been awarded NZ Creative Photographer of the Year four times.
Having also spent many years educating others in a formal tertiary education environment, I continue to share my love of this wonderful medium through workshops and mentoring, so others can enjoy and explore what our world has to offer through their own photographic pursuits.
Enjoy exploring my work and I’d love to hear from you if you have any questions.
